Lonely giant by MajaDalgaard Lonely giant by MajaDalgaard
Lonely giant.

I really should have more days off, it's so great to have time to draw.

Illustrator CS5 using pen tool and gradient/opacity tools for the sky. 2-3 hours.

Edit: Re-did the shading and background to create more contrast - the giant was kind of blending in with the background before.

Eee! How did I miss this guy the first time I strolled through your gallery! He's so cute! He kind of reminds me of the stone giant in that Merlin movie, Excalibur, with Liam Neeson. Love it!

Aaaw.. I can relate to this piece :P

I would have imagened everything being abit more darker since its night, but it is after all a clear sky..

Are you a giant, good sir? ;)

I know what you mean.
If I ever redo this piece, I will definitely go for darker colours and more of a nighttime feel.

Yeah rocks are definitely hard to get right. I need to practice drawing mountains, I can never get any good depth or perspective with them haha. I love mountain scenes though!

yeah me too. Mountains are so gorgeous to look at. We don't have any in my country, so I'm always sooo fascinated whenever I go somewhere with mountains :)
